Lamb's Players Theatre Announces Extension of Harvey Through August 22
Before it became the classic movie starring Jimmy Stewart, Mary Chase’s hilarious and endearing comedy Harvey was a Broadway hit and winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. Elwood P. Dowd is the nicest guy in town, but his best friend is becoming a problem. His long-suffering sister and embarrassed niece have had enough of Elwood’s peculiar friendship, and are determined to solve the problem once and for all. A brilliant send-up of conformity, psychoanalysis, and the frantic pace of modern life, Harvey is a comedy that just might make a believer out of you!
Produced by special arrangement with Don Gregory, Harvey is directed by Producing Artistic Director Robert Smyth, and features resident ensemble members David Cochran Heath as “Elwood P. Dowd,” Kerry Meads as “Veta Louise Simmons,” Lance Arthur Smith as “Dr. Lyman Sanderson,” and Bryan Barbarin as “Duane Wilson,” joined by Glynn Bedington as “Mrs. Chumley,” Greg Good as “Lofgren, the Cabbie,” Kelli Kelley as “Nurse Ruth Kelly,” Carly Nykanen as “Myrtle Mae Simmons,” and John Rosen as “Dr. William R. Chumley.”
Scenic design is by Mike Buckley, with lighting design by Nathan Peirson, costume design by Jeanne Reith, and sound design by Deborah Gilmour Smyth. The Production is stage managed by Lace Flores. The Production Stage Manager is Maria Mangiavellano.
