Foodies, January 19-24 Is San Diego Restaurant Week

(A popular dish found at Currant American Brasserie)

Another round of San Diego Restaurant Week is upon us—which means fans of good food, drink, and socializing have much to celebrate! Book yourself an elegant room at the Sofia Hotel and then follow your nose—and your stomach—to some of San Diego’s finest eateries for affordable and delicious fare.

Spectacular Deals, Spectacular Food

The beautiful thing about San Diego Restaurant Week, a biannual tradition, is that you don’t need to purchase any special tickets or entry passes. You just look up participating restaurants and stop by during the six-day festivities (which run from January 19th to the 24th this time around) to enjoy fabulous dishes at unbeatable prices.

You’ll have a lot to choose from: More than 180 leading culinary establishments across a broad swath of the San Diego are taking part in the epicurean celebration. From Athens Market Taverna downtown to Seasons 52 in La Jolla, restaurants will be offering prix-fixe menus at discount prices.

You can enjoy two-course lunches for just $10, $15, or $20, or cozy up to a three-course dinner that will set you back only $25, $35, or $45. You’ll marvel at the modesty of the bill as you dig into beautifully prepared food showcasing the splendid seafood, produce, and other world-class ingredients the San Diego region specializes in. Vying with the wildly varied appetizers, entrees, and desserts for your attention will be regional wines and beers redolent with our Mediterranean terroir.

Don’t Miss Out

Conveniently situated downtown with other culinary hotspots such as the Gaslamp Quarter and Coronado right nearby, the Sofia Hotel makes a fine launch pad for relishing the marvels of San Diego Restaurant Week at their fullest.

Don’t forget, too, that the Sofia houses its own topnotch restaurant, Currant American Brasserie, which is again participating in the event. Currant turns out marvelous French-inspired dishes in an irresistibly high-class but convivial setting. You don’t even have to leave the hotel, in other words, for a delicious meal at a shockingly reasonable price!
